Dedication

• To Mlle I.N, who always listened to my difficult computer-oriented talk, and encouraged me to learn programming by saying, "If you have mastered programming, give me instruction." I think that perhaps she doesn't need this program's help to read French. But, even though she may not have needed it, she certainly would appreciate my work.

General Information

• Conjuins covers over 1250 verbs including compounds.
• In order to use the full features of Conjuins, read this document carefully.
• If your CD-ROM dictionary requires non-accented form, drag and drop the greened infinitive, which is de-accented if necessary.
• Conjuins is still in the developmental stage, so please pay attention in case it contains mistakes. If you find one, please tell me.

How to Use

• Enter a verb (an infinitive, one of the conjugations or a participle) into the box, then [Look Up] or hit [Enter(Return)] key (most browsers support it).
• If your keyboard doesn't support characters with diacritic marks (accent, circumflex or cedilla), type these marks after the letter to which you want to add them. For example, for "e with accent grave", type [e`], for "c with cedilla", type [c,]. Be sure to add diacritic marks. Conjuins recognizes "liserer" and "lise'rer" differently --- They have different conjugations.
• If you retrieved a conjugation table by one of the conjugations (did reverse lookup), you'll find it distinguished in blue in the table.
• Unused or very rarely used conjugations are drawn in light gray. You can look up such conjugations and retrieve the table, but they are never distinguished in blue.
• Verbs whose participe passé varies irregularly (ex. devoir -> dû, due, dus, dues, absoudre -> absous, absoute, absoutes), can be searched out by these participles; other verbs only by masculine singulier forms.

Notes

• Although "-er" regular verbs are not included in the dictionary, Conjuins can infer the most appropriate infinitive and generate the table. But most "-ir" regular verbs are already included in the dictionary. It is highly recommended to check the verb you entered and the result carefully when "guessed as -ir verb".
• Conjugations which contain "---" are unused or very rarely used, or don't exist.

Known Issues

• pouvoir can't be searched out by puis.
